Muse

Muse, the nationwide placemaker, works in partnership with local authorities and the public sector to deliver beautiful, diverse, and sustainable new places.

With teams spanning the North West, Yorkshire & North East, and the South, Muse operates across the West Midlands from its Birmingham office. The Midlands team is leading the delivery of some of the region’s most important and impactful regeneration.

This includes Arden Cross, the £3.2bn opportunity facilitated by the HS2 Interchange Station in Solihull, the delivery of over 1,000 new homes at Smithgate in Wolverhampton city centre, and the regeneration of Mell Square to create a vibrant new neighbourhood in Solihull town centre.

Working together with Arden Cross Ltd, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, Birmingham City Council, West Midlands Combined Authority, Department for Transport, HS2, and the University of Warwick, Arden Cross is one of the region’s most important investment opportunities. It has the potential to create thousands of new homes, and tens of thousands of new jobs. A mixed-use community, Arden Cross will be an engine for regional growth.

The West Midlands is an exciting, dynamic, and forward-thinking place to invest. Moments like UKREiiF are important opportunities to work together with our public and private sector partners to promote the region and its unique proposition – from HS2, world-leading universities, and a young a vibrant population.

Across Arden Cross, Smithgate and Mell Square, we are committed to delivering some of the West Midlands’ most important and exciting regeneration – with further opportunities to expand across the region. We see huge potential in the years ahead and will play our part to help drive investment and enable long-term growth.

Muse is also collaborating with the University of Warwick to deliver a unique HealthTech Campus at Arden Cross. Anchoring a new Innovation District, the Campus will leverage the West Midlands’ competitive advantage in life sciences. It will support innovative start-ups and SMEs to expand and grow, providing access to world-leading research, investors, industrial partners, and the NHS.

Smithgate, in Wolverhampton city centre, has planning consent for over 1,000 new homes along with dynamic new retail opportunities and public spaces. Wolverhampton’s largest brownfield regeneration is being delivered by ECF – the national partnership between Muse, Legal & General, and Homes England.

ECF expanded to £400m in 2024 and delivers complex regeneration, which has been overlooked by the wider market. Muse has also recently launched Habiko, a new partnership with PIC and Homes England. With an ambition to deliver 3,000 affordable and sustainable homes across the country, there will be future opportunities for Habiko to invest in the Midlands region.
