at MIPIM 2027

Birmingham & the West Midlands are returning to MIPIM 2027.

MIPIM is the leading international event in the real estate calendar. It gathers the most influential players from all sectors of the international property industry, with over 20,000 delegates from 80 countries coming together with 2,400 exhibitors for four days of face-to-face networking, discussions and learning through premium events, conferences and dedicated exhibition zones.

Birmingham & the West Midlands will be returning to MIPIM 2027 with a brand new pavilion, showcasing more than £20 billion of investment opportunities to the European and global real estate markets. The pavilion will host a series of senior leadership activities for investors to learn more about the regional funding and development support provided by the West Midlands.

With £3.8 billion in funding and the UK’s largest Mayoral Development Corporation, the West Midlands is thriving and continues to be a premier destination for global real estate investors and occupiers alike.

Led by Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands, the pavilion presents a proactive, decisive and collaborative investment platform to build on the region’s sustainable, evergreen demand.

An ecosystem that operates at scale

The West Midlands is home to three globally renowned and distinctive cities: Birmingham, Coventry and Wolverhampton. It has consistently ranked as one of the most attractive UK destinations for international investment. The region is also a key driver in the UK’s economic prosperity and presents a compelling offer to those looking to invest.

  • We have a fast-growing economy, worth around £129 billion – about the same size as Hungary.
  • Our region enjoys unrivalled connectivity – we have the UK’s second busiest railway station, the UK’s third largest regional airport and around 90% of the UK’s population within a four-hour drive.
  • We have a flourishing talent pool – stocked by a young and diverse population of 4.7 million people. This includes 73,400 graduates from ten universities.

But the West Midlands also offers an unrivalled quality of life – world-class entertainment and leisure assets, excellent schools, universities and healthcare facilities and where homes are around 60% cheaper compared to London.

Birmingham Central Heart

At MIPIM 2026, Birmingham launched the Central Heart prospectus, setting out a major new regeneration vision that will create thousands of homes, jobs and commercial space in the heart of the city.

Developed by Birmingham City Council in partnership with landowners, developers, Business Improvement Districts and regional partners, Birmingham Central Heart outlines plans to transform four hectares of under-used city centre land into a new mixed-use neighbourhood connecting the commercial core with HS2 Curzon Street Station. It has the potential to deliver up to 5,000 homes, around 8,000 jobs and more than 400,000 sq m of commercial floorspace, alongside new public spaces and improved transport connections.
