carbonTRACK Technology Case Study
carbonTRACK acts as a central energy control gateway, enabling Virtual Power Plants and other demand response initiatives. The solution is technology agnostic and operates on a proprietary, low-cost and highly secure cellular data communication protocol.
Following engagement from the West Midlands Growth Company, the firm chose to set up a new international office in Birmingham’s City Centre to expand into the UK and European energy markets.
Securing flexible office space at AlphaBIT – a dedicated networking hub and support facility for growing, internationally-owned tech SMEs at the city’s iconic Alpha Tower – the company has significant recruitment and expansion plans in the region over the coming years.
In 2018 carbonTRACK won the Clean Growth category of the UK Tech Rocketship Awards. The awards are run by the UK government’s Department for International Trade to find leading-edge technology companies that support the UK’s innovation priorities. Open to established scale-ups, this was the first time the initiative was available to companies from Australia and New Zealand who offer innovative, technology-led solutions and are ready to internationalise.
