The university has 37 academic schools and departments and over 50 research centres and institutes, in three faculties:

The University of Warwick is also home to one of the UK’s most successful science parks, housing more than 130 high technology companies and providing access to a range of business support services including help to raise money, launch products and services, improve marketing communications, mentoring for growth, and start-up support.

Research & Collaboration

Warwick was founded with the aim of delivering excellence in research and over recent decades it has become one of the UK’s leading research universities.

In the Government’s Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014, Warwick strengthened its position amongst the UK’s ten best research universities, with its 4* research rising from 21% to 37%, with a total of 87% of the University’s research activity ranked at a Quality level of either 3* or 4*.

Since April 2000 Warwick Ventures have:

  • Agreed 156 licences with external companies
  • Filed 750 patents
  • Created 100 spin-out companies
  • Raised £120 million of venture capital for those companies

Business Services

Warwick has vast experience in working with businesses, both large and small. The university applies innovative, cutting-edge research to industry challenges, working with global corporates, local start-ups, and everything in between.

The university offers four key services to businesses:

Collaboration – incubation and acceleration programmes, including strategic consultancy and planning.

Facilities & resources – scientific, manufacturing and sports facilities available for hire; corporate event space including Warwick Conferences; and office and laboratory space.

Training & education – a range of part-time and full-time courses for employees; public events, lectures and short courses; and bespoke training programmes with the University’s departments.

Commission research – tap into Warwick’s academic strengths and areas of expertise by commissioning scientific and medical research, or work with the world-renowned Warwick Manufacturing Group.

Broadening its connections, Warwick Business School has opened a base at The Shard in London, making its world-renowned research and executive education even more accessible to the UK capital.
