Innovation & Connectivity hot topics for the West Midlands at MIPIM 2025

Birmingham Smithfield, Arden Cross in Solihull and the West Midlands Investment Zone will be among the projects under the spotlight at the world’s leading real estate event next month.
Coordinated by the West Midlands Growth Company, a delegation of civic and business leaders from around the West Midlands will promote some of Europe’s largest and best-connected schemes to 2,000 global investors and developers at MIPIM in March.
West Midlands speakers will be present across the main MIPIM and UK Hub programmes, covering topics such as how the region’s connectivity is driving significant residential development; and how universities, innovation and HS2 are underpinning major investment opportunities such as Arden Cross and Birmingham Knowledge Quarter.
Julie Nugent, Chief Executive of Coventry City Council, will lead the delegation on behalf of the region, while the group will also include senior representatives from a number of the West Midlands’ leading real estate and built environment firms.
This year’s West Midlands at MIPIM Partners include: Arcadis, Avison Young, Bruntwood Sci-Tech, DWF and Muse, while Supporters include Arup, AtkinsRealis, Howells and Woodbourne Group.
With innovation a hot topic in the real estate industry, key stakeholders including the University of Warwick’s Greg Clark will also support in promoting the region’s credentials to a global audience and showcase a new destination marketing campaign, It Starts Here (WM).
Neil Rami, CEO of the West Midlands Growth Company said:
In recent years the West Midlands has cemented its position as the UK’s biggest foreign investment hotspot outside London, and there remains a real sense of momentum here. Across the patch we have major infrastructure projects bolstering our connectivity, first-class universities with forward-looking strategies, and ambitious levels of residential housing adding density to our towns and cities.
“MIPIM is the perfect place for us to tell a global audience exactly why so many people are putting their faith in our region as a destination of the future, and showcase the many exciting projects ready to come to market in 2025.”
