The West Midlands at UKREiiF 2026: Momentum and Delivery

24 February 2026

The West Midlands is driving real estate momentum and turning strategy into delivery. Our focus on public-private partnerships is unlocking sites across our cities and activating schemes.

At UKREiiF 2026, the West Midlands delegation will present over £20 billion of investment opportunities and showcase how these public-private partnerships are catalysing delivery to global capital.

Taking place 19th—21st May, the West Midlands Pavilion will once again be one of the largest at the event, bringing together real estate leaders, public officials and sponsors under the banner of ‘Momentum and Delivery: It Starts in the West Midlands’.

Organised by the West Midlands Growth Company and led by Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands, the delegation includes the region’s seven local authorities and a large number of private sector sponsors, including three premier partners: E.ON, Lendlease and Lovell.

This is a region that is delivering. Arriving at UKREiiF 2026, the West Midlands will tell a story of momentum, having seen a record year for homes delivered utilising Mayoral funds. With work underway on major flagship regeneration projects – including City Centre South in Coventry and Smithgate in Wolverhampton- we are delivering tangible benefits to our communities.

This event provides a brilliant platform to share our plans for further growth, including our new Mayoral Development Corporation and how we will capitalise on new transport infrastructure arriving in 2026, including new stations across Walsall and South Birmingham, and a new metro connection across the Sandwell-Dudley corridor.

– Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands

This year, our delegation is joined by leading, influential national voices from across the investment and business sectors, demonstrating the private-sector confidence currently surging through our region.

As the UK’s leading destination for foreign direct investment outside of London, our scale is matched only by our ambition: we remain one of the country’s most significant regional economies, powered by one of the youngest and most diverse populations in Europe. UKREiiF 2026 provides the perfect stage to demonstrate our momentum, by showcasing our delivery to date, providing unique strategic insight, and presenting over £20 billion of investment opportunities.

– Neil Rami, Chief Executive of the West Midlands Growth Company

The West Midlands Pavilion will be hosting a three-day programme of events, focused on five strategic themes that define the region’s current trajectory.

Tuesday 19th May, AM: BIG MOVES
The West Midlands opens UKREiiF with a session led by Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands. As the UK’s leading destination for Foreign Direct Investment outside London, the region continues to attract global capital across sport, infrastructure, and industry, anchored by Birmingham’s residential sector, which recorded record completions in 2025.

National leaders will unpack the West Midlands’ ‘secret sauce’ – examining why its housing market is outperforming others and how it continues to secure strong international interest.

Tuesday 19th May, PM: MONEY TALKS
We turn the spotlight to capital and funding, exploring how funding solutions are being structured, deployed and scaled to unlock delivery across the West Midlands. As a trailblazer for devolution and the recipient of a £2.5 billion funding package from Central Government, the region is at the forefront of new policies and programmes with the capability to deliver at scale.

Money Talks will cover how national, regional and local stakeholders – from pension funds to PuFins – are partnering with the market to accelerate regeneration and development. A key focus will be housing, as the West Midlands works towards its target of delivering 120,000 new homes over the next decade.

Wednesday 20th May, AM: URBAN LIVING
The West Midlands is one of Europe’s youngest regions, and its urban centres are evolving to match that energy. A quarter of Birmingham’s population is under the age of 20, making it the youngest city in Europe.

With record post-pandemic residential starts in Birmingham and a strong pipeline emerging across Coventry and Wolverhampton, the region is at the forefront of the UK’s urban renaissance.

The session concludes with a celebratory lunch marking milestones at Lendlease’s flagship Birmingham Smithfield development – the new heartbeat of the city, where high-density living meets cultural placemaking.

Wednesday 20th May, PM: IT STARTS IN THE WEST MIDLANDS
With a £77 billion economy powered by AI, cyber security, EV manufacturing, and financial services, the West Midlands has evolved far beyond its industrial heritage. It is now a centre for R&D, high-value employment and technological advancement.

Hear directly from the innovators and industry leaders driving the region forward, as we showcase the breakthroughs shaping the UK’s next industrial era — and why it starts in the West Midlands.

Thursday 21st May: The Next Generation
The West Midlands is a rich hub of talent, powered by its 10 universities and one of Europe’s youngest, most diverse populations. As global investors and occupiers continue to choose the region, this session highlights why the West Midlands is the premier destination for talent to grow and thrive.

Join the Next Gen Hub, a place for emerging professionals from across our sponsors and stakeholders to converge. Engage in tech-led challenges tackling real-world urban issues and take part in an interactive career panel featuring live Q&A.

UKREiiF 2026 is a key moment for Lendlease to showcase how Smithfield Birmingham will help shape the next chapter of growth across the West Midlands. The region is one of the UK’s most dynamic real estate markets, with strong demand, a skilled workforce and clear ambition. Our focus is on creating a world‑class, mixed‑use destination that strengthens connections between Birmingham’s neighbourhoods while delivering long‑term value for communities and investors alike.

– Colin Murphy, Project Director, Smithfield
