Borne out of the University of Birmingham, Graide is an AI-based platform that helps teachers mark student homework by using AI-assistive machine learning. Initially designed for marking maths, physics and chemistry papers, Graide’s platform is now marking and reporting in all subjects and it has recently raised £1.6m to target further international growth.

Working alongside industry experts at the University of Birmingham has been crucial to Graide’s success, giving the company access to multiple markets. Funding from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund will also accelerate their growth and allow them to expand into the US and Canada.
