Lovey Chooses Birmingham City Centre for New Headquarters and Ambitious Growth Plans
A Birmingham-born business, named the UK’s fastest-growing Fintech and financial services provider, has chosen the city’s business district as the place to enact its ambition to more than double its headcount in the next five years.
Lovey was started by CEO Jack Smith on his own in 2016. Ten years later, the company remains bootstrapped and has grown to a team of 120, while doubling its profits year on year. It has now funded more than £600 million in loans to over 11,000 UK SMEs and was recently named the number one Fintech, financial services and insurance company in the Financial Times’ inaugural UK Fastest-Growing Companies 2027 list.
The company is now moving to a new headquarters at Three Snowhill, that will give it space to grow its team and provide the capacity to expand its operations while continuing to support SMEs across the UK. Three Snowhill is one of Birmingham city centre’s largest office buildings, with around 420,000 sq. ft of space, strong transport links and a BREEAM “Excellent” rating.

Lovey was born in Birmingham and, being named the UK’s fastest-growing Fintech and financial services company by the Financial Times and Statista, as a business built outside London, shows what this city is capable of.
Three Snowhill gives us room to keep growing in support of our mission to make business lending simple, fast and beautiful, and we’re only just getting started.
– Jack Smith, Founder and CEO, Lovey
Having founded the company in Birmingham itself, the move represents Lovey’s continued investment in the city and the wider West Midlands. Several local and regional partners have played an important role in bringing the new headquarters to life, including Carter Jonas, led by Alex Tross, who supported Lovey in securing its new home; Overbury PLC, responsible for delivering the interior fit-out; and West Midlands Growth Company, which is helping to strengthen Lovey’s presence and voice across the region as it continues to grow in Birmingham.
It is fantastic news that the UK’s fastest-growing Fintech and financial services company is expanding in our city. It’s a real vote of confidence in Birmingham, and proof that this is a place where ambitious businesses can start, grow and thrive.
– Councillor Roger Harmer, Leader of Birmingham City Council
I have been advising Lovey on their property strategy for a number of years, and it has been a real privilege to be even a small part of their success and growth. I am also proud that as a city we can not only produce but retain a business like Lovey, which is making an impact not only regionally and nationally but also internationally. Huge congratulations to Jack and the team!
– Alex Tross, Partner and Head of Agency, Carter Jonas
With demand for fast, flexible finance among UK SMEs continuing to grow, Lovey’s move to Three Snowhill marks the start of its next phase. Lovey is now hiring, and the new headquarters gives it the space and ambition to support even more businesses across the UK, while keeping its roots firmly in Birmingham.
